The reassuring words of my Cultural Theory and Politics of the Popular lecturer about the first term's work.
Now of course she said many other things in this lecture. Many important things about this section of the course this term. But of "course" (wahey) it was 9.00am and I'd be out last night...so my attention was, shall we say, elsewhere.
(It seems like I go out way too much when I write these)
However, my course does seem to be slightly more interesting this year. It was great fun watching the sparkly eyes of the boys and the dropped heads of the girls when we were told that week 10, before Xmas break, would be spent studying the culture of pornography...unfortunately no practicals or film based projects...
It was also incredible to discover what my "homework" for Comedy and Culture is to watch the Life of Brian. Now I'm not saying my course is easy...but c'mon...really?
Not that I'm complaining. Today I did some work for next week which involved reading jokes and deciding whether they were from one theory or another. I'm worried that I'm being lulled into a false sense of security and they'll suddenly say...
"We've had to move your dissertation forward to this year. We need it tomorrow."
In other Tuesday Pete related news I went for a jog this evening with Miss Blackmore which was delightfully pleasant (not to sound too gay)
I got a stitch. Standard. But we managed a decent 20 minute run in our attempt to get rid of our alcohol bellies and are planning to do more of the same this Thursday.
I will be heading to St Ives tomorrow and will hopefully have some photos to upload for your eyes wonderment and pleasure.
For all those tuning in for an Oli update. You will get two tomorrow instead of one each day.
Plus...keep an eye out for a new MrRaffle video soon...
