Thank a non-specific deity it's Friday

I'm not so sure my version of TGIF will catch on...

Anyway, I thought I'd bore the living daylights out of you by telling you what my only seminar of the day was about. Don't worry I won't go too in depth it'll be as light as I can make it. I'll throw in some whimsical comical anecdotes for you, just to keep you interested.

So, today at 4.00pm I had my Freedom and Experiment Seminar for an hour and a half. We were immediately provided with fantastic news in the form of being told that the seminar would only last an hour and a quarter...every week! This is down to our lecturer or seminarer? having to catch the 5.30 train every Friday. Score.

And yes. Freedom and Experiment sounds horribly like it'll lead to some kind of naked dancing around a tree and possibly even branching into the cousin touching areas...but don't worry, I may be in Cornwall but I assure you it is not the case...here anyway...

Anyway, we were talking about liberation and tyranny. Thrilling I know. Yet, to be honest with you I quite enjoy the discussion we had. We went into the holocaust, Iraq, Berlin Wall and many other significant points of history that involved some form of freedom and how it was either created or denied.

Unfortunately we had to relate things back to literature in the end. I think I should've taken history...

In important course news I have to do a presentation in week 5 about a text by Alexander Pope called "The Rape of the Lock." Sounds...fantastic.

The absolutely god-awful slippers that Oli bought arrived today. Good luck to whoever auctions for those.

And...here is today's purchase: http://www.olihaydon.com/page2.htm which was bought under the challenge of "something you can actually wear" which I think has been perfectly achieved.

Now. You didn't really think I'd leave "The Rape of the Lock" so unexplained did you? Especially with such a, shall we say, promiscuous title. So here you go...have a gander...
