Today was my first day of my second year as a University student. Success! I've come this far!

Anywho, I had a seminar to attend so that I could be told what to expect for the year ahead as well as confirm the much awaited module choices alongside discovering our seminar groups and seminar companions as it were.

First off I discovered that I really don't know that many people on my course which leads me to regret not actually attending last year...however, the good news is that the people I'm closest too are in all of my seminars so I will not be a "Lonely Boy"

Secondly, we were told the usual discipline-esque stuff in order to keep us in check as out of control 2nd years (Year 8's):

  • Work must be handed in on time or you will not achieve more than 40% marks.
  • Plagiarism is strictly forbidden.
  • Attendance to seminars and lectures is compulsory. (I got 32% attendance last year but still passed with just under 70%)
So anyway after we went queued..."Brits love to queue" we found out how our weeks would pan out up until Christmas...and here it is...

Monday - Comedy and the Performances of Culture Seminar: 9.00am - 12.00pm
Tuesday - Cultural Theory and the Politics of the Popular Lecture: 9.00am to 10.30am
- Cultural Theory and the Politics of the Popular Seminar: 11.00am to 12.30pm
- Freedom and Experiment Lecture: 2.30pm to 4.00pm
Wednesday - OFF!
Thursday - OFF!
Friday - Freedom and Experiment Seminar: 4.00pm to 5.30pm

So there you have it. My week is pretty simple to be honest except for the crammed up Tuesday. But, my Monday is easy, my Friday is even easier (especially after a Thursday night in town) and I get two days off in a row! Besides the fact Freedom and Experiment sounds a tad like it'll lead to inbreeding I'm pretty chuffed with my first term.

Now that's what I call University.

Now I should probably stop boasting about how basic my timetable as it will induce people to accuse my course to be "fake" and "not a real degree" and because it kind of is true...I'd best shut it.

To celebrate the completion of our first days as second years (even if my day did only start at midday and finish at 1.30) Lv and I decided to indulge in a "well done" Subway. Delicious foods.

In other Pete related news my beaut of a girlfriend Alice and I have decided to take up "jogging" (I think it's a soft J) in order to work off the dreaded alcohol bellies. Plus, I've got my first 5 aside game on Friday as well as a Uni wide tournament on Sunday in which I need to be fit enough to maintain our 100% unbeaten record.

As you can see my "And finally..." has got it's very own segment in order to brighten up each post. As you can also see it's done on shoddy word art until I can ask Oli politely and nicely to make me a decent one to match my title.

I have 3 Oli website shout outs to make now...

  1. Is a thanks for making my awesome background art for my blog and a double thanks for featuring me as a main website post.
  2. Is his Kasabian autographed music sheet
  3. Is his Rubber Band Ball
